As I was driving today, our destination sounded like a place that was vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t place it.

Turns out, it is the hometown of a former colleague and friend of mine from my days at Sandhills, so we got to hang out today. My dead battery meant that I got here 4 hours earlier. That meant I had time to hang out with them today. Serendipity wins!

What a wild rollercoaster that trip was! The map took us to the wrong location, we couldn’t get a hold of the winery we intended to visit, and on a whim said “screw it” and cheesed it to a KOA just up the road from the winery. I have full hook-ups, am down $54 dollars, and have no regrets.

The Jackery has a built-in light, which is pretty handy on these situations.

Halloween came a day late here, apparently.

Woke up to a dead-ass battery. Guess we’re leaving early this morning 😅.

I REALLY wish lists could be made public on Mastodon.

Who’s got a personal blog they’re publishing on? Looking to fill my RSS feed.

Everyone keeps sharing that toots can be formatted with RSS, but I’m not sure I understand in what circumstance I would prefer it that way. I mean, it’s cool, and should totally exist, but can someone give me some examples on how you use this feature?

Parked in St. Louis today. Definitely not as fun of a stop as the last one. It’s loud. Jackhammer nearby running basically nonstop. Can’t win ‘em all.

This is why I love having earplugs on-hand. Foam ones work fine, but we’ve found ourselves needing them so often we actually bout a couple pairs of Loop plugs.

Making good progress on today’s drive. About 180 miles out from our next setup – a tire shop that’s gonna check on our RV’s tires while we’re there for the night.
