Thinking about Taos today. I really loved who I was when I was there. Don’t know how else to say it.

In spite of the bumper shenanigans, we’re parked in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. The drive was scenic, the campground is quiet, the weather is nice, I have a delicious ipa in my hand, and a welder will be here to fix the bumper this week. All is well.

My hope is that if you watch any of my rv life tweets, the biggest takeaway is that EVERYTHING. BREAKS.

Seriously. Something is always, ALWAYS broken. You’re always in the midst of repairing or improving something.

RV lesson 6842. Never count on your rear bumper for any significant weight.

We spent some time at Watkins Glen and oh my god it’s so beautiful there. Fairytale-like. I think New York, as a whole, is underrated. Perhaps overshadowed by the city?

Woke up this morning to a dead battery and empty water tank. Didn’t put enough water in the tank and that caused my pump to run for a while and drain the battery.

We made a plan to get by for 1 final day of our planned boondocking despite that.

But it was doomed to fail. We drove down some pretty scary back roads to get to the boondocking stop, only to discover there’s absolutely no way we’re getting in there. The driveway is nowhere near wide enough to make the turn and there’s ditches on either side of the driveway.
