Today was hard. DIY off grid is hard, even if you have a good idea of what to expect. I broke another thing because of my inexperience. I was not my best self because of this.

But then I remembered, that’s the freaking point. We’re here to learn, make mistakes, and grow.

Say hello to my $200 Walmart special! I got this because my main laptop used up a lot of power and I wanted something with a long battery life for writing blog content.

Has anyone else observed the madness of going from solar DC, to inverted AC, then using a power adapter to put it back to DC? Makes me crazy.

So, our solar system is basically a solar panel and a charge controller right now. Panels charge the camper battery, which charges our two Jackerys.

I’ll upgrade the system later, but for now, this is what we have to-do when we want to run the microwave 😝
