I get queasy when I need to make a WordPress Widget. Setting up the fields, rendering the HTML, and getting fields to actually save is a PAIN.

Which is why Underpin’s Widget loader is one of my favorite loaders. It makes creating widgets less-painful.

Making some progress with making Underpin more-modular. It was so monolithic, and I think will benefit from being broken up a bit.

Side bonus – every loader gets a readme now, so the documentation is a bit stronger.

Cleaning up my GitHub repos today. Moving some, deleting many, archiving a few, and publishing some as well.

I just got a free $45 dollar bottle of wine from a local winery entrepreneur. Told him what I tasted and I’m pretty sure I offended him so much that he walked away.

Which sucks because the wine is REALLY good.

-Me- Me too!

-Ben- I want to see some aliens.

-Me- Me too. I know what he meant – “I want to go to space, land on the moon, and see the aliens”, but it was communicated as “I want to go to space”, “I want to go to the moon”, “I would also like to see aliens”.

So, I said “Me too” to each.

Good god I’m yearning for the days where playing a game consisted of inserting a cartridge, and turning the console on. Been fighting tech for 90 minutes to play a game with my son. It’s ridiculous. Turn on switch, open Minecraft

The chasm between the nomad who chose this life vs the one to whom this was forced upon is so, so disheartening. The difference between me and a homeless person is small, but I’m celebrated while they’re stigmatized all because I happen to have a source of income.

I (finally) got around to setting up a local development environment using Docker and Composer. It’s built as-if you’re going to use Underpin, and since it uses Composer, you can actually add _all_ of the plugins that the site needs in VCS.
