Okay, I THINK I’ve set up the cross-posting. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this on, but at least for now I want to make the swap easier.

Again, servers using Mastodon are not walled gardens, separate from one-another. Communication can (and definitely does!) cross servers.

This is such a solid explanation of Mastodon, and how it’s differences from Twitter seem to make it better

Literally checking Twitter just to find people who moved to Mastodon lol

This has my mind ablaze right now.

The last 24 hours has been a blur. All this open web stuff has thoroughly blown my mind.

So this has a lot of potential. HardLimit is much like Mastodon in terms of the tech, and paradigm, but it’s using different software, called PeerTube.

PS: Since I was live I decided to talk a bit about what’s coming in Underpin 3.0

Mastodon feels like 2009 Twitter. I love it.

I wish I saw this video sooner lol. This explains Mastodon pretty well.

    Y’ALL!

@tomfinley installed a plugin that sets up his WP site as a private Mastodon server. Posts can be read by anyone using Mastodon. If you comment on the post in Mastodon, the comment is auto-added to the site, too. AWESOME. @tomfinley It’s built using a standard W3 spec: w3.org/TR/activitypub/

This spec literally allows you to describe social interactions between people. When set up with your WP site, your site literally BECOMES your social profile.
