ChatGPT is an awful writer, but it’s a pretty darn good editor.

If you write the content yourself, and prompt it to be an editor, not a writer, it will make great suggestions to improve the flow of your content.

Everyone’s giving backlash on GPT5. I like it, personally. I hated how sycophantic previous versions were. The last thing I want is a “yes man” in my ear all-day.

Y’ALL IT HAPPENED. ChatGPT’s research feature just referenced me in its own research while generating a report…for me.

This feels a lot like when I used to search Stack Overflow for an answer to a question…only to find that I was the one who previously answered that question.

Does this mean I made it? Am I famous now?

I’m really beginning to notice that using AI effectively is, itself, a skill. People always position it as a magic solution, but you can DEFINITELY tell when someone lazily copypasta’s an AI response vs using AI to help them cultivate a thoughtful reply.

I know that AI gets shoved in places it doesn’t belong these days, and a lot of it is REALLY bad, but AI has completely transformed Feedly into one hell of a listening station.

I wonder if the future of the web looks more like a Feedly feed instead of a social feed?

I’ve come to find that telling AI to “stop being clever and just say the damn thing” seems to be very effective at getting better heading copy 😂

Claude’s incessant need to enumerate is my new “Delve”

“From content engagement to product recommendations to long-term customer value, you can recognize and reward partners for all the ways they help grow your business.”

    So bad

What are y’all using for background removal these days?I have a large batch of images I need to remove the background from. I’m more than capable of doing it myself (I literally published books on how to do this with GIMP) but it’s tedious and I’m thinking maybe AI can do it.

Today so many of my messages with Claude resulted in it saying “would you like me to do x?”

To which I respond with “yes, please do x”

Then it gives me a bullet point list of things it will do, and says “would you like me to do x?”

Repeatedly, and now I hit my Claude limit from wasted messages. Annoying.

This prompt yielded some really solid copy for Novatorius’ About Page:

The attached document is a conversation I had with ChatGPT about Novatorius’ website. In this, we talk a little bit about how to create the about page for Novatorius.

    Some rules:

You must not refer to this as “mine” or “I”. This is is a “we” and “us” thing. This is a business I run, but it’s not “me”.

This should use the golden circle (Why, How, What)

It should keep the nautical themes minimal. It’s tempting to use them but I think in this context it’ll be tacky.

    Avoid saying “status quo”

I really want you focus heavily on what we believe. This page should capture the “about us” mostly through those beliefs. Nearly everything in this page should talk about beliefs, tenants, and values.

I do not want you to mention anything that even remotely suggests what we do. That is not the purpose of this page. This should be all about encapsulating the spirit of what Novatorius is.
