Today is mostly about Siren. I hosted a podcast interview with Katie Keith today about affiliate marketing and now I’m fixing a bug in Siren.
Throw in a couple client meetings, and some code reviews, and that just about sums up the day.
We help turn half-formed offers into complete funnels that convert. For larger brands we consult and implement enterprise-grade e-commerce with custom third-party integrations, subscriptions, tax/shipping, analytics, and performance hardening.
You can be closing deals, paying people, and still be building the exact business you promised yourself you’d never run again.
I used to think I was doing developers a favor by keeping them out of the early planning. Turns out, I was just setting them up to fail. Here’s what I’ve learned about when to actually bring in outside help, and why timing makes all the difference.

Working on plugin deployment flows today in-between meetings. So grateful I abstracted all of this out in a way I can re-use it.

Yesterday I set up a WordPress plugin for outsourcing, initiated a new site build, and had a good call with getting Siren content published more reliably. Today I am going to work on a different plugin. Super busy, but starting to get into a rhythm.

Today is mostly about budgeting and finance. I pay myself on the 10th and 25th, and lean into Profit First ideology.
If I have time, I’ll probably get moving on a project I won earlier this month. I have a few retainers I kinda need to organize.
Oh, and Siren 🥰

Published a podcast episode today, and scheduled another one two weeks from now. I’ll be working on next week’s on Thursday, I think.
Also met with some people who I hope will be able to work with me soon!
Feels really good to start finally getting back to “normal” after becoming self-employed again.

Today’s goals:
Need to get the content machine going for Siren Affiliates. I have content, just haven’t scheduled it 🥲.

Nudged a few projects forward this morning, and now I’m heading off to find some kind of breakfast and…omg coffee. I need coffee. This place has good coffee somewhere, right? Where should I go?
