We just booked 2 more weeks at OBX. We’re just not ready to leave yet!

It’s a dreary, blustery weekend in the OBX. It’s like the universe is trying to remind me about when it sucks to be in a smaller rig. No regrets though, we’re built for this!

Still catching up on a number of things thanks to this week’s travel, but I still found some time to fly my kite in the dunes at Nags Head. I love it here!

Okay, we dropped our big camper off in storage for the Summer. It took all day to get it delivered there, but it’s in a sensible position where we can easily access it without going out of our way later this year. Today, we are finally taking the small one back to OBX. Can’t wait to be done driving.

So yesterday, we went and purchased a new (MUCH smaller) 24′ camper that’s more similar to our OG rig. We intend to use this all summer for travel, and swap out for the big rig during winter when we’re less-active.
This was a whole heckin’ process and I’ll get into it in a blog post when I come up for air. I’m super excited about it though!
Moving into the new camper at the dealership This is going to be a lot easier to tug around when we’re adventuring in the warm months. A familiar view. This one isn’t too different than our original camper. Feels like home. -

Man, the locals at OBX really love OBX. So many vanity plates and decals sporting the letters OBX.

Looking at my personal “On this day” photos, and it became apparent that on this day 2 years ago I was in Coarsegold, California, where I had got myself in a hell of a pickle, and was helped by one of the most generous people I’ve ever met.

OBX is a serious contender for my favorite place out east. There’s a lot to love about North Carolina. Really feeling the vibe of this area.

Kate keeps telling me that we’re going to be able to see the Northern lights much further south than usual over the next few years. Does this mean it’ll be really crazy if you go where it is typically visible?
