It’s insane to me that .org powers are unilaterally being used for .com problems. This is a line I never thought I’d see get crossed so brazenly.

With some clever filters in my server, I can now use the WordPress app to reply to posts. It’s a little awkward since I have to copy the link, but still…a step in the right direction.

Federating My Website
This post explores how I’ve added enhancements to my site to better-integrate with the Fediverse, and also how I’m using the Mastodon app to publish content direct to my WP site (!)

Holy shit. There’s a plugin that allows you to publish on your blog using Mastodon apps. You can now publish content on your WordPress site directly through the mastodon app. This is HUGE for mobile experience.

So I have some questions about the state of the fediverse on WordPress.
Is it possible to migrate my Mastodon’s followers/following to my WordPress site (assuming I’m using it as an ActivityPub source)
Is it possible to actually follow people and get some kind of feed, interacting with that account with other users?
I think the answer is still solidly “no” to both of those, but it would be good to get some context on how people are dealing with this today.

Is now the time we have serious conversations about an earnest fork of WordPress and placing governance on the fork? Seems like a big push, but I worry we’re running out of options.

Been messing with the discoverability of my blog lately, and I’ve kinda come full-circle, tag cloud, categories, and search on the sidebar. If it ‘aint broke, I guess.
