Spending time in Canada as an American kind of feels like you’re in an alternate dimension. Everything is there, but it’s all slightly different ????.

Taking a pit stop just before going into Canada. Since we have no slides we are able to use our full camper, including the kitchen and the comforts of home. It’s easily my favorite thing about traveling without slides. I lay in a bed, Devin plays with his toys, and Kate sits at the dining table. It’s nice.

Today is a travel day! We’re leaving Acadia, Maine, and the United States as a whole. By the end of the day, we expect to be in New Brunswick for a few days on our way up to see a few national parks up there. One such highlight is Gros Morne in New Foundland. Can’t wait!

I’m done with meandering in spring. In prior years, we would drive 200 miles and park for a week, just to kill time until it warmed up enough up north. The idea was to pace ourselves and establish routine, but I am finding that sprinting to warmer places I want to be, and stay there much longer is proving to be a whole lot better for both routine and travel burnout.

Went on a hike today where the elevation changed by 450(!) feet in under 3 miles. It was very steep in some areas, and we had to go slow. The kids did so well! I snapped this photo while we were taking a break and it might be my new favorite photo of the family.

I Built an Indexing Platform For an External News Aggregation API
This was a fun, and challenging project that made extensive use of Underpin. It felt good to utilize the library in this context, and it was exciting to see it reliably work in-action.
