    Got the kite up to a full 500 feet with the camera attached but it was too wobbly to look good. I have some ideas on how I can stabilize it though. ????

    Today’s birthday shenanigans start with a Route 66 themed restaurant in Bar Harbor. Seems funny to have such a theme considering the route never came near Maine, but the food looks good and it’s really cool!

    Mounting My GoPro To My Kite – With Footage

    I mounted a camera to my kite, flew the kite, and successfully got some cool sunset footage at my campground. This talks about the trial-and-error getting there. It shows the footage, too!

  • We have made it to Acadia National Park in Maine! We will be here for a week, and I’m thrilled to be here! I took the time off and am really looking forward to seeing what many consider to be their favorite NP in the US.

    This guy from the campground just walks up to me earlier this week and says “Hi, I’m Steve. Do you play bass?”

    3 days later I’m playing the bass for the first time in 3 years in front of people, playing songs I’ve never heard with two people I’ve never played instruments with.

    It was a blast!

    The deck is technically assembled now. It will look a bit less trashy when we paint it all a uniform color, and somehow finish the edges.

    Made some progress on the deck setup today. The campground had a couple spare decks sitting around, so we ended up using those, and the palettes for support. Picking up some things to make it nicer, such as paint, now.
