Ricardo

Ricardo is our Winter rig. During the holiday season, and during Winter, we tend to focus inward, doing more work on personal projects instead of going out and traveling much. Because of this, our Wintertime camper is the biggest rig we own. It's a 38' fifth wheel, with 5 slides, and doesn't really have many compromises when it comes to living in a camper. The kids have their own dedicated bedroom, complete with desk and television, I have my own dedicated desk space, we have a couple very comfortable recliners, a dinette, and a large island kitchen. The disadvantage of this rig is that setting this camper up comfortably is an extensive process. Three of the slides benefit from stabilizer support, which requires that I get under the camper and put 6 stabilizers down, plus two more on the rear-bumper. I also need to set up a tripod stabilizer on the hitch in the front, and also go through the process of pulling out the slides. Plus, when traveling, most of the camper is inaccessible because the slides prevent you from accessing pretty much the entire rig, save the bathroom. Due to these reasons, plus the considerable weight of the camper, we tend to avoid traveling with this rig in-favor of Leela, which is much lighter, and can be set-up and packed-up in minutes. But, when we're looking for a comfortable rig that's not going to move much, and is not going to be parked in our summer spot (that's reserved for Charlie), Ricardo is the best rig we've got.

Devin discovered "the mouse" today. Apparently Bennett has been showing him how to use it while playing his games on his laptop. Came out of the shower to find Devin clicking around my PC, so I redirected that curiosity into something that won't inadvertently wipe my hard drive ???? in the process.

Welp, our land offer was not good enough, apparently. we lost on terms (again). I hate this feeling so much, and it keeps happening. You spend so much time and energy just...choosing the place, only to have it ripped away by a cash buyer. I hate purchasing real-estate so, so much.

At least we're starting to see new options crop up. Maybe we'll have more luck in the future.

Lazy start to this Saturday. Kate and I are casually looking at some 24' (much smaller than what we are in now) rigs and thinking about what we're going to do should we be unable to buy land in Vermont. Perhaps a smaller rig and a couple years out west?
