    CW: alcohol

Made it to our first stop in the trip to Texas. We’re parked at a brewery in Indianapolis. This bourbon barrel stout comes in a regrettably small 8oz glass, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t tasty all the same.

I love Harvest Hosts! CW: alcohol

The best stout in the US, perhaps the world, is in the Midwest. You can’t convince me otherwise

Parked near Columbus for a quick break. Taking it nice and easy this time. The truck is hauling the camper really well. Super pleased with our adjustments.

Holy shit that was close. Look at this photo. What $600 mistake did I almost just now make?

The adjustments to the hitch height made a big difference. We’re all hitched up, and heading to our next destination, Indianapolis!

Welp, today marks the last day before we hit the road to Texas, essentially starting year 3 of our . I’m tired from all of the travel this year, and am so ready to go back.

Lookin’ forward to this stuff again. I hope I enjoy it as much as I did last year.

I think the thing I’m most excited about in the short-term is I can FINALLY add my micro content to my personal site, which currently is built 100% by collecting information about me from various sources (GitHub, blogs, and soon Mastodon).

I’ve realized I never use my blog because writing content feels like too much of a commitment. I’m always writing it to be like…super SEO optimized, 1200 words minimum, and a bunch of other self-imposed limitations. Like as-if I’m going to use my content as some kind of super epic marketing thing.

And it’s completely stopped me from writing anything on it. I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to write more, and I think the key, at least for now, is to simply write smaller posts, more often.

I syndicate all of the blog content I write, regardless of which blog I publish, on my personal site, by the way. And it has an RSS feed here: alexstandiford.com/rss

Okay, I THINK I’ve set up the cross-posting. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this on, but at least for now I want to make the swap easier.
