I was at the Outer Banks last month, and while I was there I got to test out this really cool GoPro kite mount prototype I designed. It worked really well, but I am just now getting around to uploading the video for it. I'll end up doing an actual post of this project in its entirety soon, but for now, here's the video.

Parked the camper about 1/3rd of the way to DC from our summer home in Vermont. Didn’t even bother disconnecting it from the truck. We’ve got places to go!
I do feel bad for this campground though. We’ve done this three times to this same one. It’s just in the right spot for a late night layover on the way to DC (and more importantly, the Outer Banks 😅)
9 days in the OBX was just the thing. Nothing but kiting, and chilling at the beach, and I loved it. Back to Vermont tomorrow though! Lots more to do before we go to WordCamp US this month!

I love this little camper so much. It’s not the most comfortable setup long term, but it’s small, easy to haul, and ready for adventure. a real “camper’s camper”, if you will.
Seems silly to have a camper that’s basically dedicated to camping when you literally live in campers full time, but it’s an optimization which I do not regret.
I just finished flying my kite this evening, and as I was walking back I saw what looked like a huge jet flying through the sky.
Turns out it was the Antares rocket flying out of Wallops! Serendipity at its finest!

IT FREAKING WORKED! I had to make a single minor adjustment - the clip didn’t pinch hard enough. Nothing a cotter pin couldn’t fix! I’ll upload the video soon, but it is really…REALLY stable. I’m positively thrilled by the result!

We're just arrived on Prince Edward Island, and I noticed it was windy when we parked. Excited, I go out and try to fly my kite, which of course is when the wind dies.
I miss the constant wind on the Outer Banks. I hear they do some kite surfing here though, so maybe I'll have more luck on the beach. 🤞

Welp, here we are. Day one of hitting the road after OBX. Parked somewhere in Delaware, in a parking lot with the new camper in-tow. I loved my time in the Outer Banks, and was sad to leave, but, as always, the thrill of getting back on the road captivates me once more. It feels good to be "back".

We leave for Vermont this weekend. I'm both excited to move on and still somehow thinking "it's too soon" to leave OBX. It's been 6 weeks now. I think it will never be enough time.
But, we have lots of fun travel ahead - we're going all the way up into Newfoundland and Labrador next month(!!)
