Well, I had a good run. Just over 3 years I have managed to dodge Covid, but it seems my luck has run out.

And no, isolating in a camper is anything but fun.

Parked the camper about 1/3rd of the way to DC from our summer home in Vermont. Didn’t even bother disconnecting it from the truck. We’ve got places to go!

I do feel bad for this campground though. We’ve done this three times to this same one. It’s just in the right spot for a late night layover on the way to DC (and more importantly, the Outer Banks ????)

    Meet Charlie, Our Summer Camper

Earlier this year we bought a used camper to put on our seasonal lot in Vermont. This post talks about the camper, and how it stacks up with our other campers.

Living It Up With a Shed

We set up a shed on our seasonal lot in Vermont, and I’m so happy with the results. This post talks a bit about how we built the shed, and the platform it’s built on.

We finally put the truck rack on the truck today. And hours later, we already made use of it, to haul some lumber for a small platform we need to build for our shed. We got this so we can take kayaks and things with us when we travel ????

Well that was the longest 650 miles ever. 15 hours. In city or town traffic for the majority of the drive. Camper in tow. Tired. Sleeping now ????.

On a fun note, I got to see parts of New York City. Kinda neat I guess.

Woke up this morning preparing to drive to Vermont, and remembered that we did not make this drive in one go before. It’s 720 miles (!). Our highest mileage is 620. Guess we’re stopping in Poughkeepsie. It only cost 27 bucks though, thanks to the crazy amount of KOA rewards we’ve accumulated this year ????.

9 days in the OBX was just the thing. Nothing but kiting, and chilling at the beach, and I loved it. Back to Vermont tomorrow though! Lots more to do before we go to WordCamp US this month!

I love this little camper so much. It’s not the most comfortable setup long term, but it’s small, easy to haul, and ready for adventure. a real “camper’s camper”, if you will.

Seems silly to have a camper that’s basically dedicated to camping when you literally live in campers full time, but it’s an optimization which I do not regret.

I just noticed every year since we’ve started traveling, one place has stuck out and felt like “home” each year. Ohio (2020) Taos (2021) Vermont (2022) Rodanthe (2023).

I wonder if we’ll eventually get repeat locations that earn such a title?
